Why xotogel Uses Two-Factor Authentication
Online gaming platforms handle sensitive information — your identity, payment methods, account balance, and transaction history. A single weak password can expose all of it. Two-factor authentication adds a second layer so that even if someone discovers your password, they cannot access your account without the second code.
At xotogel, we require or recommend 2FA during critical actions: account login, change of password, update of payment method, and withdrawal requests. This is especially important when you are topping up via DANA, e-wallet, or mobile banking, or transferring funds through local payment, online payment, e-wallet, or mobile banking virtual accounts. The second factor confirms that you — not a malicious actor — are making the change.
Common 2FA Methods on xotogel
Our platform supports two primary verification methods:
- SMS / SMS-based code: A six-digit code is sent to your registered mobile number. You enter it within a few minutes of login or transaction.
- Authenticator app: You install Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy on your phone. Each time you log in, the app generates a time-based code (usually valid for 30 seconds).
SMS is faster for casual users; authenticator apps are preferred by serious players because they do not rely on network connectivity and cannot be intercepted via SIM-swap attacks.
Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication on xotogel
Enabling 2FA takes a few minutes and can be done from your account settings on desktop or the xotogel mobile app. Here is the step-by-step flow:

When you deposit funds into your xotogel account, 2FA protects the transaction. Depending on your deposit method, the verification flow varies slightly:
Deposit verification types
- E-wallet deposits (e-wallet, mobile banking, local payment, online payment, e-wallet, mobile banking): You initiate a transfer from your e-wallet app, and xotogel confirms your identity via 2FA (SMS or authenticator code) before crediting your account.
- Bank transfer (local payment, online payment, e-wallet, mobile banking): You generate a unique virtual-account number from xotogel, pay into it, and 2FA is triggered if the account holder name or amount differs significantly from your profile.
- Withdrawal requests: All cash-out transactions require 2FA approval, regardless of method.
If you are in Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung, Medan, Semarang, or Yogyakarta and use local payment for quick top-ups, your 2FA code acts as final approval. The xotogel system will request the code before your balance is updated. This prevents accidental or fraudulent transfers.
Managing 2FA Codes During Deposits
A few best practices when using 2FA for deposits:
- Keep your phone nearby and unlocked when initiating a deposit.
- Do not share your 2FA code with anyone, even xotogel staff (our team will never ask).
- If you do not receive an SMS code, check your signal and try requesting a resend from the xotogel prompt.
- If using an authenticator app, ensure your phone clock is synchronised (most apps auto-sync).
Troubleshooting Two-Factor Authentication
If you encounter issues with 2FA, here are the most common solutions:
- Not receiving SMS codes
- Check that your mobile number is correct in your xotogel profile. Ask your mobile carrier if SMS filtering is enabled. Try switching to authenticator app instead.
- Authenticator app codes not working
- Ensure your phone clock is set to automatic. Code validity is time-based, usually 30 seconds. If the code expires mid-entry, wait for the next one.
- Lost access to phone
- Use one of your backup codes to log in. Then immediately disable 2FA and re-enable it with a new method. Contact xotogel support if you need assistance.
- Cannot remember backup codes
- Log in with an existing backup code. Go to Security settings and generate a new set of codes. Write them down and store offline.
Disabling or Changing 2FA on xotogel
You may want to switch from SMS to authenticator app, or vice versa. To change your 2FA method:
- Log in to your xotogel account with your current 2FA method.
- Go to Security settings and select "Manage Two-Factor Authentication".
- Choose "Disable current method" (you must confirm with your active 2FA code).
- Select the new method (SMS or app) and complete setup as described above.
- Save new backup codes.
Note: Disabling 2FA entirely is not recommended, as it leaves your account vulnerable. Even if you use a strong password, a data breach elsewhere could expose it. Keeping 2FA enabled is the single best way to protect your xotogel funds and personal data.
